Longstart Apple

Longstart appleFirst found in Westmorland in 1851. Longstart was much grown in North Lancashire and in Cumbria before the war, and was stocked by Robinson's Mammoth Onion nursery, where it was much sought after by customers. It is delicious, but it does not appear to be a very hardy or long lived tree

It is said that is it called Longstart due to its long stalk
